Vintners' Company and Wine & Spirit Education Trust Lecture
Each year the Chairman and Trustees of the WSET invites a well known member of the wine and spirit trade to deliver the Lecture in Vintners’ Hall in London.
2007 Lecture 15 October
"A row of vines - is it better than money in the bank?"
The speaker 2007 Vintners' Company and WSET Lecture was Christian Seely, Managing Director of AXA Millésimes. Christian will take to the lectern at Vintners’ Hall to discuss his views on whether vineyards are a good investment.
The AXA Millésimes group of properties includes the prestigious Bordeaux Châteaux Pichon-Longueville Baron, Petit-Village and Suduiraut as well as Mas Belles-Eaux in the Languedoc, Domaine de l’Arlot in Nuits-St-Georges, Disznókő in Hungary and Portugal’s fabled Quinta do Noval.
Our speaker for the evening, Christopher Carson, former CEO of Constellation Europe Ltd and Chairman of The Wine and Spirit Trade Association, set forth his vision for the future of the wine market. He discussed, as he saw it, the current issues facing the drinks' trade, and argued that greater contention will follow if drastic action is not taken now.
