WSET Certified Educator Programme

The WSET Educator Programme provides training for instructors delivering WSET programmes through WSETs network of Approved Programme Providers (APPs).

All new APPs are required to have a minimum of one instructor who has successfully completed the modules of the Educator Programme required for the qualification levels they are approved for.  It is also highly recommended that existing APPs have at least one instructor who has completed this course.

Places on the course are limited, and are currently only available to instructors working or preparing to work for new or existing APPs who offer Intermediate and Advanced Certificate qualification levels.  A separate training course is available for those APPs planning to only offer Foundation level qualifications.

Entry Requirements

The Certified Educator Programme consists of 6 modules taught and assessed over three days.  All applicants will be expected to attend all three days, however the modules attended will vary depending on the qualification levels they are eligible to teach.

An applicant will be required to hold the WSET qualification above the level they are preparing to teach.

Modules 1 - 4 (Foundation & Intermediate)    WSET Advanced Certificate required
Modules 1 - 6 (Foundation, Intermediate & Advanced)  WSET Diploma required or equivalent wine related qualification plus the WSET Advanced Certificate

Applicants will be expected to complete preparation of a presentation to be delivered on the final day of the course prior to commencement and complete homework tasks during the course.  Instructions on preparation requirements will be included in the course joining instructions.

Assessment	Part one will be a 15 minute presentation on a given topic at L2 Intermediate level Part two will be a wine tasting presentation at advanced level Presentations will be observed and assessed by qualified instructors.	3

Certification

A WSET Educator Training Programme certificate will be issued to all applicants who successfully complete the assessment for this qualification.  The certificate will include a list of the modules they have completed.

WSET Certified Educator

Applicants who have successfully completed all six modules and hold the WSET Diploma or equivalent qualifications outlined above will be eligible to use the title 'WSET Certified Educator'.  WSET Certified Educators must sign up to a code of conduct and certification is valid for three years at which time educators will be invited to renew their certification.
