Overview
The BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL KNOWLEDGE course will provide insight into all aspects of the wine industry as they impact/influence the UK market – from grape to glass.

The course will impart the knowledge to enable attendees to influence their businesses - to make their companies, and themselves, more successful in the UK wine industry.

Who is the course for?
1. Employees of companies within every sector of the UK wine industry engaged in commercial roles.
2. Suppliers for whom the UK is their primary target market
3. Rising stars and future leaders of the wine industry

It is likely that students attending the course will EITHER have extensive product knowledge, OR experience from other FMCG sectors.

- First group-work (marketing)

- The Issues Facing the UK Wine Industry

- The route to market in the UK

- Retailer Insights

- The Financial implications - from Grape to Glass

- Break-out modules (focus on Sales, Marketing or Financial issues)

- Second group-work (business scenario case studies)

 
Learning Outcomes:

1. Equip the industry to develop and implement commercial success - personally and for their business.

2. Bring more rounded business awareness to the wine industry, combining product knowledge/passion with business acumen.

3. Provide understanding of today’s business factors and future issues facing industry.

4. Improved understanding of both customers and consumers in the UK market.

Assessment:
The course will include assessment at Higher Education quality assured standards through the Royal Agricultural College accreditation system.
